Reflexive civilization
A civilisation able to observe its own development, measure its imbalances, and change the very way in which it develops.
This is the movement’s final orientation. Contemporary civilisation has very strong machinery for producing capability and far weaker mechanisms for reflecting on its own condition.
Reflexivity does not mean caution or braking. It means having feedback: the system sees the consequences of its own actions early enough to correct course.
